Privacy policy
What information Navantara collects through this website and its programs, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it.
Scope
This policy covers navantara.org and the programs run by Navantara AI Learning Foundation. It explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you.
What we collect
- Contact and partnership enquiries: the name, email address, phone number, organisation, and message you submit through our forms.
- Newsletter subscriptions: your email address only.
- Donations: the details needed to process and receipt a contribution, including those required to issue an 80G certificate.
- Program participation: the records needed to run and evaluate a program, including attendance, assessment results, and progress notes. For children, this is collected through the partner school or with guardian consent.
- Website usage: basic server logs such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, used to keep the site running and secure.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to anyone, for any purpose.
- We do not send marketing on behalf of third parties.
- We do not publish a child's full name, photograph, or personal details in fundraising material without the specific consent of their parent or guardian.
- We do not use program data to build advertising profiles.
How we use what we collect
- To respond to your enquiry, process a donation, or issue a receipt and tax certificate.
- To deliver, evaluate, and improve our programs.
- To report aggregate, de-identified results to donors, partners, and regulators.
- To meet obligations under Indian law, including income tax, FCRA, and audit requirements.
Sharing
We share personal information only where it is necessary: with partner schools and implementing organisations for the delivery of a program; with payment processors and banks to complete a donation; with our auditors and legal advisers; and with government authorities where the law requires it.
Where we use a service provider, they are permitted to use the information solely to perform that service for us.
Storage and retention
Information is stored on access-controlled systems and is available only to staff who need it for their work. We keep records for as long as the purpose requires, and for the periods required by tax, FCRA, and audit rules — after which they are deleted or anonymised.
Your choices
- You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in the email, or by writing to us.
- You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to retain it.
- Parents and guardians can withdraw consent for their child's participation or for the use of their child's image at any time.
